Chairman Zhang Jinxiong said, please allow me, on behalf of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, to express a warm welcome and sincere greetings to all of you.
Zhang Jinxiong said that as the fourth most populous country in the world, Indonesia has a current population of about 280 million, with an excellent demographic dividend, and more than half of them are young people under the age of 30. The working-age labor force accounts for nearly 70% of the total population. When you walk on the streets of Indonesia, I believe you can feel the country’s vigorous vitality and vitality.
Indonesia and China have been friendly neighbors since ancient times. In modern history, the children from China's southeastern coast, especially from Fujian and Guangdong, went to Southeast Asia to make a living from scratch, composing a magnificent epic of "going to Southeast Asia". The relationship between Indonesia and Fujian and Xiamen is also very deep. Nowadays, the Indonesian Chinese have taken root here, coexisting in harmony with other brothers and friends, helping each other, fully integrated into the mainstream Indonesian society, and actively promoting exchanges and cooperation between Indonesia and China in many fields.
Zhang Jinxiong further pointed out that Xiamen is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese in China, the forefront of reform and opening up, and an important hub city on the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association is also very happy to maintain good communication and exchanges with the Xiamen Municipal Government, actively promote in-depth cooperation between the two parties in economics, trade, and investment, and make positive contributions to the economic prosperity of the two places. Finally, I sincerely wish President Chen and all guests a successful and fruitful trip to Indonesia.
Vice President Chen Shanzhi said that he would first like to thank President Zhang Jinxiong and everyone for their warm hospitality. Our visit to Indonesia has three main purposes. First, invite entrepreneurs from Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association to attend the China Investment and Trade Fair held in Xiamen in September this year. Second, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Tan Kah Kee’s birth, we will hold a grand commemorative event. I hope everyone can take the time to participate in this event. Third, the Lufeng Newspaper founded by the Xiamen Overseas Friendship Association is a newspaper that conveys the voices of overseas Chinese and some information about the hometown of overseas Chinese in Xiamen. It is currently distributed in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. It is hoped that it can cooperate with the Xiamen Overseas Friendship Association in the future. Chinese-language media in Indonesia have deeper cooperation and exchanges.
