The China Asia Economic Development Association Visited Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association to Enhance Exchanges
(Jakarta News) A 14-member delegation led by Quan Shunji, President of the China Asia Economic Development Association, including Bao Ruiling, a senior consultant of the China Asia Economic Development Association, member of the Central Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association, and former Minister of Social Services, China Asia Chen Jun, executive vice president and secretary-general of the Economic Development Association, and others visited Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association at 1:30 pm on July 15, 2024 (Monday). They were greeted by General Chairman Zhang Jinxiong, Secretary-General Zhou Weiliang, Vice Chairman Chen Xin and Welcomed by Jiang Miaocheng, permanent honorary chairman Chen Zhikun, honorary chairman Zhang Jinquan and other directors.
 
Zhang Jinxiong, General Chairman of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, said that Indonesia is one of the initiators of China’s “Belt and Road” concept and an important comprehensive strategic partner along the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road”. Indonesia attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with China. China has been Indonesia's largest trading partner for 11 consecutive years. Last year, the bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached US$139.4 billion, and China's direct investment in Indonesia reached US$7.4 billion, making it Indonesia's second largest source of investment.
 
At present, there are more than 1,000 Chinese-funded companies in Indonesia, actively investing in industrial parks, nickel mines and other downstream industries of mineral resources, especially in the new energy automobile industry. Wuling, Chery, BYD, Dongfeng Xiaokang and other Chinese automobile companies have Enterprises have successively announced investments and construction of factories in Indonesia. It is believed that these investments will not only promote Indonesia's economic development and provide millions of jobs, but also provide Chinese companies with vast overseas markets and business opportunities.
 
Zhang Jinxiong said that Indonesia and China are both developing countries with large populations and are in a stage of rapid development. They are both important forces in maintaining regional and world peace and prosperity. We believe that the prospects for future cooperation are still very broad. Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will also continue to use the chamber of commerce as a platform to establish and maintain a good communication mechanism with the China Asia Economic Development Association, provide good service to the chamber of commerce, and provide good support and services for cooperation and exchanges between member companies of the two chambers. Finally, I sincerely wish the delegation a successful trip to Indonesia and a fruitful harvest!
 
Chairman Kwon Soon-ki expressed his gratitude to Zhang Jinxiong, Chairman of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, for the invitation. Our visit to Indonesia this time is mainly to host the Asia-U.S.-Europe Economic Forum in November this year. In recent years, China and Indonesia have had a lot of exchanges and cooperation in projects. The leaders of the two countries interacted very frequently, and the cooperation in economic, cultural and other fields was very close. Indonesia is currently China's third largest trading partner among ASEAN countries, and China is Indonesia's largest trading partner. Indonesia's economy is developing very fast, with growth of 5% in the first quarter of this year.
 
 
He said that in recent years, Indonesia has not only experienced rapid economic development, but also has very stable politics, is very rich in natural resources, and is very friendly to China. Indonesian Chinese have played a very important role as a bridge in promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Indonesia in the fields of economy, culture, etc. He hopes that In the future, we can continue to receive support and help from Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association and make greater contributions to the economic and trade development of the two countries.
