Indonesia has a total population of approximately 280 million, making it the fourth most populous country in the world. More than half of them are young people under the age of 30. The excellent demographic dividend is also an important advantage of Indonesia's rapid economic development. In addition, Indonesia is also the world's largest producer of palm oil, coal and nickel. Its rich natural resources provide a solid foundation for the country's economic construction.
In 2023, Indonesia's GDP growth rate will reach 5.3%. Despite the complex and volatile global economic situation, Indonesia's economy still shows strong resilience. Especially in the fields of digital economy, new energy and infrastructure, Indonesia continues to explore new opportunities and achieve sustainable development. In the economic data of ASEAN countries just released for the first half of this year, Indonesia continues to lead ASEAN countries with a total GDP of US$680.4 billion and a growth rate of 5.08%.
Indonesia has always attached great importance to economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges with China. Today, the relationship between the two countries is at its best period in history, with fruitful cooperation in various fields and close trade and investment relations. Last year, the total trade volume between the two countries reached US$139.4 billion, and China has been Indonesia's largest trading partner for 11 consecutive years. In 2023, mainland China's direct investment in Indonesia will reach US$7.4 billion, continuing to remain Indonesia's second largest source of foreign investment.
Zhang Jinxiong said that Guizhou has outstanding people, numerous ethnic groups, profound historical heritage, and rich cultural, natural and other tourism resources. We very much welcome the leaders and entrepreneurs of the Guizhou Provincial Government to come and visit Indonesia often, learn about Indonesia’s customs and business opportunities, and jointly develop and expand a broader market. Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will also actively play its role as a chamber of commerce.
