(Jakarta News) A 17-member delegation led by Vice Mayor Zou Zhiyu of Ganzhou City, including Director Xie Wencai of the Ganzhou Municipal Transportation Bureau, Yang Yougu, Secretary of the Anyuan County Party Committee, Chen Xiaofeng, Level 2 Researcher of the Ganzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau, and Director of the Office of the Ganzhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade Ding Zuyuan and other entrepreneurs visited Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association at 4:30 pm on August 6, 2024 (Tuesday). Chairman Zhang Jinxiong said that in the past two decades, economic and trade cooperation between Indonesia and China has been continuously deepened and investment cooperation has made remarkable achievements. Last year, bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached US$139.4 billion, and China has been Indonesia's largest trading partner for 11 consecutive years. China's direct investment in Indonesia will reach US$7.4 billion in 2023, continuing to remain Indonesia's second largest source of investment.
Zhang Jinxiong said that in recent years, Chinese companies have also actively participated in the construction of downstream industries in Indonesia. Taking nickel ore as an example, a number of modern industrial parks focusing on the nickel industry such as the Qingshan Industrial Park built by Chinese-funded companies have made use of Indonesia's rich laterite nickel ore. Resources and deep participation in the global stainless steel and new energy industry chain have not only brought a large amount of investment and advanced technology to Indonesia, but also opened up a broader overseas market for Chinese companies.
Zhang Jinxiong pointed out that Ganzhou in Jiangxi has a long history, a superior geographical location, and rich products. It is known as the "Tungsten Capital of the World and the Kingdom of Rare Earths". Gannan navel oranges are also deeply loved by consumers at home and abroad. We very much welcome Ganzhou municipal government and entrepreneurs to visit Indonesia and look for cooperation opportunities. Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will continue to act as a bridge of communication and cooperation between the two parties, provide necessary consultation and assistance for everyone to invest in Indonesia, and contribute to promoting economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges between India and China.
