In recent years, with the democratic reform in Indonesia, the economy and society have developed in an all-round way, and people's living standards have improved. We are also very pleased to see that the Indonesian economy has maintained a rapid and steady growth of more than 5% for ten consecutive years. Especially in the context of the current poor performance of the global economy as a whole, Indonesia's GDP will still maintain a growth rate of 5% in the first quarter of 2023, much higher than expected.
At the same time, in recent years, our government has continued to improve service levels and efficiency, strive to create a good business environment, and provide "one-stop" services for domestic and foreign investment, as well as a number of investment incentives and convenience measures. According to the statistics of the Central Bureau of Statistics, in 2022, Indonesia will implement a total of 120.72 trillion domestic and foreign investment, which is about 84.13 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 34% over 2021; among them, the implementation of foreign investment is about 45.6 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 5.42 billion %; and China has become the second largest source of investment in Indonesia with US$8.2 billion.
As a country with huge economic potential, Indonesia has extensive fields of cooperation and a solid foundation of friendship with China. Today, Secretary Wen and Vice Mayor Peng personally led a delegation to visit Indonesia, which also fully reflects the importance attached to Indonesia and the Indonesian market! We believe that today's economic and trade exchange meeting will be a beginning and will build a more solid bridge for the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will, as always, actively play the role of our chamber of commerce as a platform to provide necessary legal and regulatory consultation for Shantou enterprises to visit Indonesia for inspection, exchange, investment and settlement, and strive to serve the enterprises of both parties well. Shantou City is one of the first four special economic zones in China. It is located at an important connection point between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Economic Zone on the West Coast of the Taiwan Strait. It is a national comprehensive transportation hub. In recent years, the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government have supported Shantou to build an international wind power innovation port and a regional leading city for cross-border e-commerce, giving Shantou a series of major benefits. At present, there are more than 800,000 Chinese from Chaozhou and Shantou in Indonesia, and they have always played an important role in promoting two-way economic, trade and investment exchanges and cooperation between China and Indonesia. The China (Shantou)-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange Conference brought together Shantou's textile and garment industry, toy industry, wind energy industry association and other traditional advantageous industries and new energy industries. The first batch: Guangdong Jinye Technology Development Co., Ltd. and PT.Tritunas Bangun Perkasa Tunas signed an investment contract for a total of 350 million yuan in going out projects. The second batch: the signing of trade procurement intentions (2 import and export trade procurement projects of about 4.5 billion yuan), the Indonesian Toy Association and the Shantou Chenghai District Toy Association signed a procurement intention agreement of 2.5 billion yuan.
The third batch: The official business of Tiktok Shop signed a tripartite strategic cooperation agreement of 2 billion yuan with Shantou Textile and Garment Industry Association and Shantou E-commerce Industry Association. The fourth batch: Indonesian Textile Industry Association and Shantou Textile and Garment Industry Association signed an agreement to establish a friendly business association. The fifth batch: Miolante China (Indonesia) Trade Fair signed a cooperation agreement with Shantou Textile and Garment Industry Association; the sixth batch: Indonesia Chaozhou Federation signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shantou Municipal Bureau of Commerce.
