Vice President Lian Jiehao said that first of all, on behalf of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, I would like to express my warm welcome and sincere thanks to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce for their visit.
As the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia has a unique geographical location and rich natural resources. Indonesia consists of more than 17,000 islands with a total population of about 280 million, making it the fourth most populous country in the world. The huge population base provides the market with huge consumption potential.
In recent years, Indonesia's economy has maintained steady growth, with a total GDP of approximately US$1.4 trillion in 2024, maintaining a stable growth of more than 5% throughout the year. The Indonesian government is also committed to improving the business environment and has introduced a series of preferential policies to attract foreign investment, including the Comprehensive Employment Law of 2020, which simplifies the registration process and opens up more investment areas to foreign investment. In terms of taxation, a number of special economic zones have been established to provide tax exemptions for specific industries and encourage foreign investment to participate in Indonesia's economic construction, especially in key areas such as manufacturing, digital economy, and green energy.
Lian Jiehao said. As one of the largest Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association has been committed to promoting economic and trade cooperation between Indonesia and China and actively building a cooperation platform for enterprises on both sides. We are very much looking forward to further strengthening cooperation with Jiangsu Province, especially in the fields of manufacturing, digital economy, new energy, etc., to promote mutual benefit and win-win results for enterprises on both sides.
It is heard that in early May this year, the governor of Jiangsu Province will visit Indonesia and hold a China (Jiangsu)-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference. Our Association will do its best to support this event, assist in inviting representatives of our Indonesian Chinese enterprises to attend the meeting, and promote in-depth cooperation between the two sides in the fields of economy, trade, investment, etc. We believe that through the holding of this exchange meeting, the cooperation between Jiangsu Province and Indonesia will reach a new level.
