Indonesia and China have always maintained very close economic and trade cooperation relations. As a window for communication and cooperation between China and ASEAN, Guangxi has important geographical advantages and radiation capabilities. With the implementation of RCEP, the cooperation between our two countries has become increasingly closer. At the same time, we have also seen that many Chinese companies and investments are pouring into Indonesia in large quantities and rapidly. Today, Chairman Yang personally led the delegation and brought so many entrepreneurial friends. We are also very happy and sincerely hope that everyone can stay in Indonesia for a few more days to conduct an in-depth inspection of Indonesia’s investment, business environment and market potential. Indonesia finds its favorite partners and expands business opportunities.
Zhang Jinxiong said that Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade have maintained good interaction and close cooperation for many years. Guangxi Council for the Promotion of International Trade is a regional trade and investment promotion organization in Guangxi, committed to promoting economic and trade cooperation between Guangxi and other parts of the world. We build a platform for cooperation and exchange for enterprises by organizing economic and trade activities, exhibitions and forums.
Hosting the summit is one of the important responsibilities of Guangxi Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The summit is co-sponsored by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Guangxi government and the ten ASEAN Chambers of Commerce and Industry. It is held every year in Nanning, Guangxi. It has been successfully held for 20 consecutive times, attracting 125 leaders of China and ASEAN countries and more than 1,000 senior government officials. , business leaders and nearly 10,000 business representatives, experts and scholars, and have promoted bilateral projects worth over US$85 billion. The summit has become the highest-level, largest and most influential international economic and trade event between China and ASEAN. It has played an important role in promoting high-level dialogue, strengthening economic and trade cooperation and representing industry and commerce.
In 2023, Chairman Ren Hongbin awarded the China-ASEAN Business Council (CABC) Joint Secretariat to Guangxi Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The China-ASEAN Business Council is the only business cooperation dialogue platform among the five major dialogue and cooperation mechanisms between China and ASEAN. We will give full play to the role of the Joint Secretariat, focus on practical regional industry cooperation, global and regional governance and higher-level opening up, and build a pragmatic and open cooperation platform for the ten ASEAN countries and all provinces, cities and industries in China.
The summit and the council are an open platform for exchanges and cooperation between the business communities of the 11 countries. This year will host key events such as the 21st Summit, the China-ASEAN Business Council Plenary Session, the Annual Meeting and the Joint Meeting of Presidents of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. We hope that Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will actively organize delegations to participate in the conference and cooperate with us in organizing pragmatic bilateral economic and trade activities to inject new vitality into China-Indonesia and China-ASEAN economic and trade relations.
