Delegation from The Shandong Provincial Overseas Friendship Association visited ICEA to Strengthen Cooperation
(Jakarta) A delegation led by Deng Yunfeng, President of the Shandong Provincial Overseas Friendship Association, including Wang Lei, Director of the Department of Commerce; Sun Haoran, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee; Feng Shangwei, President of the Overseas Exchange Association; Li Hong, Deputy Director of the Shandong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office; and Cui Hongguang, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce, visited Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association at 5:00 PM on Monday, September 15, 2025. They were welcomed by Chairman Zhang Jinxiong, Secretary-General Zhou Weiliang, Supervisory Committee members Wang Zhenkun and Liang Yuanan, Vice Chairmen Xue Tianzeng and Chen Xin, Honorary Chairman Lu Qingbo, Vice Chairmen Gao Pengcai, Yang Qingshun, and Weng Hualing, as well as Yue Jianbo, President of the Indonesian Shandong Chamber of Commerce.

Chairman Zhang Jinxiong stated, "First of all, on behalf of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, I would like to extend a warm welcome and the sincerest greetings to everyone!" Since its re-establishment in 2001, Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association has been committed to uniting Indonesian Chinese businesses, promoting Indonesia's economic and social development, and fostering exchanges and cooperation between Indonesian Chinese businesses and those in China and other countries around the world.

Zhang Jinxiong stated that Indonesian Chinese businesses, as an important part of Indonesia's economic development, have long been deeply integrated into Indonesian society, making due contributions to Indonesia's economic development and improvement of people's livelihoods. At the same time, Indonesian Chinese businesses also serve as a natural link in promoting friendly cooperation between Indonesia and China, fostering mutual understanding and economic prosperity between the two countries through trade, economic exchanges, and cultural exchanges.

Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous country with a total population exceeding 280 million, accounting for 40% of the total economic and population size of ASEAN. It is also the only ASEAN country with a GDP exceeding one trillion US dollars. Last year, Indonesia's GDP totaled approximately 1.4 trillion US dollars. Despite global economic turmoil, the Indonesian economy has demonstrated strong resilience, with its GDP growth rate reaching 5.12% in the second quarter of this year, exceeding market expectations.

Indonesia is also rich in natural resources, being the world's largest producer of nickel and the second largest producer of tin, as well as a major exporter of coal and palm oil. Indonesia boasts abundant marine fisheries, tropical fruits, coffee, and cocoa resources, offering broad prospects for cooperation.

Zhang Jinxiong pointed out that Indonesia and China have been friendly neighbors separated only by the sea since ancient times. In recent years, economic and trade exchanges between the two countries have become even closer. China has been Indonesia's largest trading partner for 12 consecutive years and has ranked among the top three sources of foreign investment in Indonesia for 9 consecutive years. In the first half of this year, bilateral trade between Indonesia and China reached US$70.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%. During the same period, direct investment from Hong Kong and mainland China reached US$8.2 billion, second only to Singapore, continuing to rank Indonesia's second-largest source of foreign investment.

Zhang Jinxiong further stated that Shandong, as a major economic province in eastern China, possesses significant advantages in marine economy, manufacturing, agriculture, and other aspects. It has great potential for cooperation with Indonesia in terms of highly complementary resources and industrial development. We sincerely invite entrepreneurs from the Shandong Provincial Government to frequently visit Indonesia to gain a deeper understanding of the Indonesian market and people's lives, and actively seize Indonesia's development opportunities. Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will continue to fully leverage its role as a bridge and link to promote exchanges and cooperation between Indonesia and Shandong, jointly pushing Indonesia-China economic and trade relations to a new level. Finally, I wish Chairman Deng and all the guests a complete success in their visit to Indonesia.

Deng Yunfeng, President of the Shandong Provincial Overseas Friendship Association, pointed out that the main purpose of their visit to Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association today is to see everyone, learn about their living conditions, and especially to hear their suggestions on Shandong's efforts to promote high-level development. He also briefly introduced the latest developments in Shandong Province in the fields of culture, industry, agriculture, and trade, and sincerely invited the entrepreneurs of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association to take some time to visit Shandong, tour the province, and invest in businesses.
