(Jakarta) On Friday, September 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM, a delegation led by Henan Vice Governor Zheng Haiyang, including Zhang Jinxiong, Chairman of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association; Yu Yuling, Chairman of the Advisory Committee; Zhou Weiliang, Secretary-General; Chen Xin and Lian Jiehao, Vice Chairmen; and Vice Chairmen Weng Zuhui, Shang Jiaxuan, Wang Lisong, Xu Changkuan, and Chen Hongping, welcomed the delegation at the Chamber's premises. The delegation included Li Hongtao, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office; Wang Jiyong, Deputy Director of the Public Security Department; Zhou Zicun, Second-Level Inspector of the Commerce Department; and Wang Dezhou, President of the Indonesian Henan Chamber of Commerce. The two sides engaged in friendly exchanges and discussed strengthening cooperation.
Chairman Zhang Jinxiong stated that Henan is a major economic and agricultural province in China, with vast potential for cooperation with Indonesia in agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism. Furthermore, Henan is an important cradle of Chinese civilization, boasting a long history and rich cultural heritage, serving as the spiritual home of Chinese people both at home and abroad.
Indonesia boasts the world's largest overseas Chinese population, with 20 million of its 50 million overseas Chinese residing there. Indonesia's long-standing open and inclusive ethnic policies have enabled the Chinese community to better contribute to Indonesia's economic development.
Zhang Jinxiong stated that since its re-establishment in 2001, Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association has broadly recruited prominent figures from various sectors of Indonesian society, bringing together outstanding Chinese businesses. With the founding principle of "uniting Chinese businesses to promote Indonesia's economic development," the Chamber serves as a bridge and link for friendship between Indonesia and China, continuously promoting cultural exchanges and economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
As is well known, Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous country and Southeast Asia's largest economy, possessing a vast consumer market of 280 million people. Its economic growth rate has consistently remained above 5%. Last year, Indonesia's GDP totaled approximately US$1.4 trillion. In the second quarter of this year, Indonesia's GDP growth reached 5.2%, the highest second-quarter growth rate in nearly two years, exceeding market expectations and demonstrating strong economic resilience.
Furthermore, Indonesia possesses abundant natural resources, being the world's largest exporter of coal and palm oil, boasting the world's largest nickel ore reserves, and ranking among the world's top in reserves of gold, silver, copper, aluminum, and tin. In recent years, the government has actively attracted investment by continuously improving the business environment through a downstream development strategy.
Zhang Jinxiong pointed out that according to the latest data from the Indonesian Ministry of Investment, Indonesia attracted US$26.3 billion in foreign investment in the first half of this year, with investments from Singapore, Hong Kong, and mainland China reaching US$8.8 billion, US$4.6 billion, and US$3.6 billion respectively, continuing to rank as the top three sources of foreign investment in Indonesia.
Chinese companies' investment projects in Indonesia are becoming increasingly diversified, and bilateral trade is also continuously growing. In the first half of this year, the total bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached US$70.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%. China has been Indonesia's largest trading partner for 12 consecutive years.
Henan Province, as an important agricultural base and manufacturing powerhouse in China, possesses significant advantages in grain production and equipment manufacturing.
