New Energy Huangpu Entrepreneurs College Visits the Youth Department of The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce to Seek Cooperation
(Jakarta) The 18-member delegation of the China New Energy Huangpu Entrepreneurs College visited Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association and the Youth Department at 2 pm on June 25 (Wednesday) to conduct in-depth exchanges and seek cooperation opportunities.

The 18 young entrepreneurs, led by Zhu Lina, the founder of Huangpu Entrepreneurs College, and Datuk Lin Hengyi, President of the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, are mostly engaged in new energy and emerging industries. When visiting Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association and the Youth Department, they were warmly welcomed by Secretary-General Zhou Weiliang, Vice Chairman Lin Songshi, Honorary Chairman Shang Shangxuan and Director of the Youth Department Yao Hanbin.

Director Yao Hanbin pointed out in his speech: Indonesia is located at the "golden crossroads" of Southeast Asia, with a vast territory of more than 19 million square kilometers and rich natural resources, especially in the fields of minerals, energy, and agriculture. In 2025, Indonesia has a population of 280 million, with significant demographic dividend and sufficient labor resources, providing a solid foundation for sustained economic development and industrial upgrading. In the first quarter of this year, Indonesia's GDP grew by 4.87% year-on-year, ranking second among G20 countries, second only to China, fully demonstrating the resilience and vitality of the Indonesian economy. In the face of global economic uncertainty, the Indonesian government continues to optimize foreign investment policies, simplify investment processes, strengthen intellectual property protection, promote infrastructure construction, and actively attract global investors.

In the first quarter of 2025, Indonesia attracted approximately US$13.67 billion in foreign direct investment, a year-on-year increase of 12.7%, with mining, metal smelting, new energy and other fields performing particularly well.

He said: The Indonesian government attaches great importance to energy transformation and green development, and has issued the National Power Development Plan 2025-2034 (RUPTL), which clearly states that 69.5 GW of installed capacity will be added in the next ten years, of which 76% will be renewable energy and energy storage projects, covering solar, wind, geothermal, etc. In April 2025, the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources issued Ministerial Order No. 10 of 2025, proposing to gradually retire coal-fired power plants ahead of schedule, promote clean energy substitution, and introduce a number of incentives to encourage foreign investment and private capital to participate in new energy investment. The government also plans to build two small nuclear power plants, continue to improve the transmission and distribution network, and strive to achieve the net zero emission target by 2060.

Yao Hanbin pointed out: In 2024, the bilateral trade volume between China and Indonesia continued to grow, and China remained Indonesia's largest trading partner and major source of investment. The two countries' cooperation in new energy, mineral smelting, infrastructure and other fields has continued to deepen. The cooperation in the new energy industry chain based on key minerals such as nickel and copper has become a new highlight of the economic and trade relations between the two countries. The many new energy projects invested and constructed by Chinese companies in Indonesia have not only promoted the upgrading of local industries in Indonesia, but also promoted the process of regional economic integration.

He said: At present, global trade protectionism is on the rise, tariff barriers and geopolitical conflicts are frequent, and the international economic and trade environment is full of uncertainty. Indonesia has always adhered to the development concept of openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation, actively maintained the multilateral trading system, and promoted the construction of the ASEAN Community. We are well aware that only by strengthening the layout of diversified markets and deepening international cooperation can we effectively respond to external shocks and achieve sustainable development. Indonesia welcomes global partners, including Chinese new energy companies, to participate in Indonesia's green and low-carbon transformation process and work together to open up ASEAN and broader international markets.

Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, as always, fully utilizes the platform advantages of the Association to provide necessary support and assistance for multi-party cooperation. The leadership of the Chamber of Commerce also interacted deeply with visitors and provided Indonesia's business policies and new information.
