Vice Chairman Chen Xin said that on behalf of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, I would like to express my warmest welcome to the delegation of the Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Zhejiang Province who came from afar! Thank you all for visiting Indonesia in your busy schedule to discuss cooperation and seek common development with us. Today's gathering is not only a friendly exchange between the two chambers of commerce, but also an important opportunity to respond to China's "Belt and Road" initiative and promote enterprises in the two places to work together to open up overseas markets and seek new opportunities.
Chen Xin said that Indonesia, as the largest economy in Southeast Asia, has a unique geographical location and rich natural resources. Indonesia consists of more than 17,000 islands, spanning the equator, connecting the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and is an important node of the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road". With a population of more than 280 million, Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous country, with a high proportion of young people and huge consumer market potential. In recent years, Indonesia's economy has maintained steady growth, with an average annual GDP growth rate of about 5%. It is one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
The Indonesian government attaches great importance to economic development and is committed to improving the investment environment, promoting infrastructure construction, developing the digital economy, and vigorously attracting foreign investment. Indonesia's "Global Ocean Pivot" strategy is highly consistent with China's "Belt and Road" initiative, providing broad space for cooperation between the two countries. In addition, the Indonesian government has also introduced a series of preferential policies, including tax exemptions, simplified investment approval procedures, etc., to provide convenience for foreign investors.
As an emerging market, Indonesia has rich natural resources and huge market demand, especially in the fields of energy, minerals, agriculture, manufacturing and digital economy, with many investment opportunities. For example, Indonesia is the world's largest producer of palm oil, with nickel reserves ranking among the world's top, and is also an important exporter of natural gas and coal. In addition, Indonesia's digital economy has flourished in recent years, and e-commerce, financial technology and logistics have attracted a lot of investment.
In terms of trade, China has been Indonesia's largest trading partner for many years. The cooperation between the two countries in energy, infrastructure, manufacturing and other fields has continued to deepen. The Indonesian government is vigorously promoting the industrialization process, especially in downstream industries such as nickel processing, electric vehicles and battery manufacturing, which provides huge cooperation space for Chinese companies.
Chen Xin further pointed out that China's "Belt and Road" initiative has injected new impetus into global economic development and provided new opportunities for cooperation between China and Indonesia. Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association has been committed to promoting exchanges and cooperation between enterprises of the two countries. We believe that through this visit, the Zhejiang Hunan Chamber of Commerce and Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will further strengthen their ties and promote pragmatic cooperation between enterprises in the two places in the fields of infrastructure construction, energy development, digital economy and other fields.
Finally, I sincerely hope that all entrepreneurs of the Zhejiang Hunan Chamber of Commerce can find suitable investment opportunities in Indonesia. I wish this visit a complete success! I wish you all a smooth work during your stay in Indonesia.
