They were welcomed by Vice Chairman Chen Xin, Supervisory Committee Member Chen Boyan, Vice Chairman Xue Jingyong, Chen Hongping, Lin Songshi, Ji Guozhang, Honorary Chairman Huang Zhiyong, Deputy Secretary-General Yang Xinsheng, Li Jie, and Consultant Kuang Yaozhang. Everyone communicated with each other, enhanced cooperation, and sought common development.
Chen Xin, Vice Chairman of Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, said that first of all, please allow me to briefly introduce that Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association is a non-profit, national Indonesian Chinese business community organization. The Association currently has more than 500 core member companies covering retail, construction, mining, manufacturing, financial services and other fields. Our purpose is to "unite Chinese business enterprises and promote Indonesia's economic development". We are committed to promoting economic and trade exchanges between Indonesia and the rest of the world, helping member companies to expand markets and deepen cooperation, while actively participating in social welfare undertakings and fulfilling corporate social responsibility.
Chen Xin said that in recent years, Indonesia's economy has developed steadily. It is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and one of the fastest growing regions in the world. According to statistics released by the Investment Coordinating Committee, China has remained the second largest source of investment in Indonesia for many years, indicating that the economic and trade cooperation between India and China continues to flourish.
Indonesia's retail industry has grown year by year. Two major trends are particularly significant: there is a trend of offline consumption upgrading: high-end shopping centers have emerged in metropolises such as Jakarta and Surabaya, and local brands compete with multinational companies on the same stage; there is also a trend of explosive growth online: such as e-commerce penetration exceeding 30%, Tokopedia, Shopee and other platforms, live e-commerce, social shopping and other new models are booming.
In the construction industry, Indonesia's construction industry has an average annual growth rate of 6.5%. National strategic projects such as the construction of the new capital, the extension of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway, and the Sumatra-Java cross-sea bridge continue to advance; green building certification projects have increased by 20% annually, and the demand for smart building materials and modular construction technology has surged.
Chen Xin said that we very much welcome entrepreneurs to visit Indonesia and look for new business opportunities. Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association will continue to play a good role as a bridge for communication and cooperation between the two sides, provide necessary consultation and assistance for everyone to invest and land in Indonesia, and actively contribute to promoting economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges between Indonesia and China. Finally, I sincerely wish you a successful trip to Indonesia and a fruitful harvest.
